INDOOR TRACK
UPDATE
COACH KIRK IN THE HALL OF FAME (Chagrin Falls website article)
I just want to thank all of the athletes, parents,
coaches, administration, and the community for all of the kind emails and words
that you have sent in congratulations of this award. It is truly an honor, but it is also humbling. To you athletes you are the reason any
coach wins an award like this. Please know
that we have always been proud of you more for the kind of people you are as
much as for your athletic accomplishments.
Anybody can coach elite athletes. Being a part of the lives of elite people such as yourselves
is and will always be counted amongst the blessings I have had in my
life. Thank you, all of you! It will be a fun evening Im sure.
JANUARY, 2012
The 24 week training schedule is underway that takes
us to the culmination of training State Meet, the first weekend of June. Be patient no reason to overdo it. There will be plenty of time to go fast later. Pay attention to the weather! Dont put yourself in a dangerous
position. Be careful of your
health! As the weather
fluctuates, so will the cold and flu season. LOTS of fluids! Remember it is easier to dehydrate in cold
weather than in hot weather. Fluids!
EMS forms and running schedules are available in
room 322. These first six weeks (Start
date was December 19) should just be an easy buildup of mileage and getting
moving some strides here and there and lots of stretching. Practice good forms! Running is Sunday through Friday Saturday
is an off day. Get to the weight room if
you can 2-3 times per week and concentrate on the core exercises.
INDOOR SCHEDULING MEETING
Listen to the announcements. We will get the schedule put together at this
meeting. Decisions will be made by those
who show up. If you have not turned in
your paperwork you need to do so. Also
make sure your physical is current. Seeya then!
Medical paperwork must be kept
current, so be sure to check your physicals. If your name doesnt appear,
you can get an official OHSAA examination form in the Athletic Office or you
can also download
it directly to your site.

STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS
SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 7
What a race!
We wish you could have all seen your team captain in action because she
was MAGNIFICENT! From the gun, she was off
and running with the lead pack and she never faltered. This was Kirstens third trip to
It sends a message to all of you: We can be there. We are good enough. We can be there and compete. We can be there and be great! There is no one out there we cannot beat when
we make up our minds that that is what we are going to do. If there is a lesson to be learned by our
young people for next year for life this is it. We are going to be good next year. We are going to go back. And we are going to be great!
Learn from the example that Kirsten set.
In the words of Winston Churchill Never give in. Never give in. Never, never, never, never--in nothing, great or small, large or
petty--never give in, except to convictions of honor and good sense.
Never yield to force. Never yield to the apparently overwhelming might of the
enemy. Never give up.
She
showed us all what has to be done. She
showed us all how to do it.
Congratulations to Kirsten! The
rest of you get excited about 2010!
See you then!!
State Meet results are
